The practitioner

Over a decade of NHS clinical reasoning,
brought into private practice.

Ed Davis is a physiotherapist qualified from the University of the West of England, Bristol in 2013. He works at Enhanced Practice Level within the NHS and continues to do so alongside Wyvern Physiotherapy, his private practice.

He is passionate about person-centred care — seeing the individual, not just the problem. His approach is unhurried and evidence-led: a thorough assessment, a clear plan, and continued support after you leave the room — whether in person or by video.

Away from the clinic room, he has grown up around sport and was until recently a season ticket holder at his beloved Exeter City FC. He enjoys walking and exploring new areas, but above all, time with his partner and children.

Ed holds CSP member insurance, including £10 million public liability cover. View PLI certificate (valid to 30 June 2027)

2014

First private practice & pitch-side cover

Began working part-time in another private practice alongside NHS hours. Also provided short-term Emergency Physiotherapy first team cover to Exeter City FC during the 2014/15 season.

2016

MSK community role

Left the rotational post to take up a dedicated MSK role within the community, working across local hospital sites including Bridgwater, Chard and Wellington.

2017

Primary care pilot

Took up his first role in primary care during a pilot of what would become the first contact practitioner model — patients seeing the physio directly, bypassing the GP.

2019

Department lead & Injection Therapy

Returned to the NHS full time as MSK Physiotherapy & Podiatry department lead at Bridgwater Hospital and Parkgate House, Taunton. That same year, passed his Injection Therapy masters module with distinction.

2021
